GlenBrook Health Center Appoints New Administrator

Five-Star Health Center Welcomes Veteran Health Care Professional

CARLSBAD, CALIF. – Zach Gray has been named administrator for GlenBrook Health Center in Carlsbad, California. Located at 1950 Calle Barcelona, GlenBrook provides health care services to the public as well as residents of La Costa Glen Carlsbad, the continuing care retirement community located adjacent to the health center.

As administrator, Gray will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of GlenBrook, including resident satisfaction, regulatory compliance, financial management and employee engagement.

A licensed administrator in California as well as numerous other states, Gray was most recently the associate executive director at Sedgebrook Retirement Community in Chicago and the administrator for the Residences at Thomas Circle in Washington, D.C. He holds a bachelor of science degree in health studies from Georgetown University and a master of public health from Columbia University. Gray has won numerous industry awards and recently participated in writing “The Role of Socioeconomic Status in Nursing Home Quality Ratings” for the Senior Housing & Care Journal with the primary author, Tamara Konetzka, PhD.

“Zach’s top-level education and solid experience in the retirement community health management field are reflected in his professional nature and strong management skills,” said David Armour, executive director for La Costa Glen. “His personal enthusiasm and business sense will serve him well while overseeing the daily needs and demands of the health center.”

GlenBrook’s 94-bed skilled nursing center has received a Five-Star Quality Rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and offers licensed nursing care 24 hours a day. GlenBrook also features 74 assisted living apartments for those needing help with daily routines such as bathing, meal preparation and medication management, with assistance available 24 hours a day. In addition, the health center offers Memory Care for those struggling with Alzheimer’s or other form of dementia.
