Guinness Book of World Records Event

Carlsbad residents Bill and Marylyn Hatch have owned their 1957 Corvette since August 12, 1957. It has never been stored, restored or altered and they continue to drive it.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at The Shoppes in Carlsbad, west end parking lot, from 3 to 5pm, North Coast Vettes Corvette Club will produce an event to justify and validate this car as the "longest continuous use vehicle" for the Guinness Book of World Records. The current record holder is 67 years . . . the Hatch Corvette will be 69 years young on August 12, 2026.

The Guinness Book requires officials not affiliated with the club or the vehicle to validate an event such as this.

Members of North Coast Vettes will be present with their vehicles, as well as those from other local Corvette clubs.

The event is free and open to the public.
