Professional actors bring stories of love and romance to Carlsbad City Library on Feb. 14.
Looking for a red-hot Valentine’s Day celebration? Try Hearts Afire – an evening of stories about love and romance – by Write Out Loud on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at Carlsbad City Library’s Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium, located at 1775 Dove Lane.
The program includes stories that are both contemporary and classic. You Were Perfectly Fine by Dorothy Parker will be read by Jessica John and Jonathon Sachs. Moira Donaldson’s Table for Two will be read by Veronica Murphy. Murphy will partner with Walter Ritter to do The Lovers, an Irish classic by Sean O’Faolain. Other stories in the program will be Sleeping Beauty and the Airplane by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, First Love by Vladimir Nabokov and A Valentine by Edgar Allan Poe.
“It will be an evening devoted to everyone's favorite pastime – love,” said Ritter, Write Out Loud’s co-founder. “It's our favorite subject, too, so join us on Valentine's Day for a dewy-eyed exploration of all that makes us human.”
