Joining the academy staff in 2002, Pullen most recently had been the school’s Director of Finance. In her new role, she oversees the finance and business offices as well as campus facilities, maintenance, food service, technology, outside contractors, and the school bookstore.
A UCLA finance and accounting graduate, Pullen’s 40-year career includes serving several years as the controller for the San Diego Jewish Academy and in various management positions with The Community Resource Center in Encinitas. Prior to that, she worked in banking for Security Pacific National Bank and Home Savings and Loan Association.
“Janet’s expert management skills and her long tenure with the Academy equip her to provide the high level of financial and operational oversight we need,” Bartell said.
Pullen resides in Fallbrook and has two adult children.
Founded in 1910, the Army and Navy Academy is a private not-for-profit Gurian Model School that provides a college preparatory curriculum alongside a leadership and character development program for young men, grades 7-12. It is the only private boarding school in San Diego County and the only military academy for high school-age students in the western states. The academy’s mission is “to educate, mentor and develop leadership and good character in young men.”
