Library Cinema Series Features Foreign and Independent Films
Series kicks off Sept. 17 with Academy Award-winner "In a Better World."
Safaris, world travel and meeting the love of your life are some of the themes highlighted in Carlsbad City Library’s foreign and independent Cinema Series kicking off on Sept. 17.
The series begins Sept. 17 with the Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning film “In a Better World,” which explores the difficult choices between revenge and forgiveness. On Nov. 5, the series continues with “Barney’s Version,” featuring Paul Giamatti’s Golden Globe-winning portrayal as a man who meets the love of his life at his own wedding – where she is not his bride.
On Jan. 14 and March 10, 2012, you’re invited to meet the directors. Filmmaker, photographer, author and National Geographic Society expert lecturer Karin Muller returns to the library on Jan. 14 to deliver a multi-media performance, “Solo Adventure Travel with Karin Muller.” Award-winning cinematographer, writer, editor and director Rick Ray's “East Africa Safari” explores the safari destinations of Kenya and Tanzania, topping it all off with a trek to visit the mountain gorillas of Rwanda.
