North County Firefighters, Officials Review Wildfire Plans In Ongoing Training
San Diego County Sheriff's, Cal Fire San Diego, and Rincon Fire Department joined the North County Firefighters to go over emergency plans.

CARLSBAD, CA — North County's Fire Protection District's first responders, including deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office Emergency Planning Unit and the Fallbrook Substation, recently came together at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos for valuable wildland fire training.

Recently, Cal Fire San Diego responded to a wildfire that burned two acres nearCrosley Truck Trail and Highway 79. The fire burned about two acres before it was halted. The training that takes place in advance of wildfires is as important, if not more so. This week, training for 2026 kicked off, including a reminder for residents to be prepared for our 365-day wildfire season.

"With warm temperatures already arriving, now is the perfect moment for residents to review their own wildfire preparedness," a spokesperson for the event shared over social media. "Residents' personal plans for wildfire preparedness are as important as the work first responders do in the field."
