North County House Fire On Thunder Drive Displaces 13 Residents

Thick, black smoke from the blaze was witnessed from the John Landes Skate Park over the weekend.

OCEANSIDE, CA — An Oceanside home caught fire Saturday afternoon, injuring one person and leaving 13 without a home, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived on a call just after noon when smoke was sighted on Thunder Drive, according to Oceanside Fire Capt. Mike Campbell.

Firefighters battled the blaze from outside positions while others searched inside the residence. All had self-evacuated, according to Campbell.

One resident was treated for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization, and the Red Cross was brought in to help the residents during their displacement.

No cause for the fire has been released.
