Open Seat Available On Carlsbad Traffic Commission

Applications must be submitted to the city clerk's office​ by noon on Oct. 16.​

CARLSBAD, CA – Looking to volunteer in the community? The city of Carlsbad is seeking residents interested in serving on the Traffic Safety Commission.

The Traffic Safety Commission advises and makes recommendations to the City Council on matters involving traffic safety, pedestrian safety, parking and school safety. The commission typically meets at 5 p.m. on the first Monday of the month in the Council Chambers at Carlsbad City Hall.

Members of the five-member commission are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council for four-year terms. The current vacancy will fulfill the unexpired term through July 2020.

Applicants must be Carlsbad residents and registered to vote in Carlsbad. Commissioners are required to complete two hours of ethics training every two years and file a Fair Political Practices Commission Form 700 annual statement of economic interests. This form, which is a public document, details a person's financial interests, such as property ownership and business ownership.

Applications must be submitted to the city clerk’s office by noon on Oct. 16. Applications are available on the city's website or in the city clerk’s office at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
