Puppets and Muppets at the Library

Don't miss the final weeks of "The World on a String" puppet exhibition at Cannon Art Gallery along with a chance to see "The Muppet Christmas Carol."

There’s less than two weeks left to catch the amazing Cannon Art Gallery exhibition of The International Puppetry Museum. The exhibition, which began Oct. 2, closes Dec. 30.

See the world through wooden eyes with puppets from Bucharest, Palermo, Bali, Africa, Asia, North America and many more points around the globe. Featuring more than 120 puppets, this exhibition is on loan from the International Puppet Museum of Pasadena, and features a portion of the Alan Cook Collection, founder and director of the Museum.

In conjunction with the exhibition, the library is hosting a free screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. Join Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and all of the hilarious Muppets in this magical version of Charles Dickens’ classic tale. Michael Caine plays the greedy, penny-pitching Ebenezer Scrooge and with the charming performances of the Muppets, the true meaning of Christmas is discovered. The film is rated G, runs 85 minutes and was originally released in 1992. The Muppet Christmas Carol will be screened in the library’s Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium.
