San Diego 'FixIt' Clinic Scheduled For Saturday In Carlsbad

Residents can bring in broken appliances, electronics, and more and receive guidance, tools, and workspace to fix them.

CARLSBAD, CA — Things fall apart, goes the old saying. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be fixed.

On Saturday from 10-1, Carlsbad residents will have the chance to bring in broken electronics, appliances, computers, toys, bicycles, clothes and more for a free SD Fixit Clinic and Repair at the Georgina Cole Library.

The event provides free workspace, specialty tools, and guidance to help disassemble, troubleshoot, and repair broken items. Attendees can also attend the following classes and demonstrations:

10:00 am - Bike Repair/Maintainence with Tri Power Multi-sport
10:45 am - Invisible & Visible Mending with North County Sewing Guild
11:30 am - Surfboard Repair with Moose's One Hour Surfboard & SUP Repair
12:15 pm - Upcycle USB Cable to Replace Batteries with San Diego Maker's Guild

Local businesses will offer guidance throughout the event at their booths. Attendees are asked to bring one item requiring repair, and event organizers will try to steer them in the right direction. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own supplies, though some will be available.
