Smoke Possible Near Carlsbad As Crews Train At Camp Pendleton
The Carlsbad Fire Department is among the departments participating in the Fire School on base. Smoke may be visible throughout the week.
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is hosting its annual Fire School aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton this week.
Part of the training includes exercises through Friday. As a result, smoke may be visible throughout the week at various times, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the northern, northeastern, and center areas of the base and near Bonsall and Fallbrook.
Participating fire departments include Carlsbad Fire Department, Miramar Fire Department, Oceanside Fire Department, Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, San Marcos Fire Department, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, California's Office of Emergency Services, Brea Fire Department, Glendale Fire Department, Los Angeles Fire Department and Orange County Fire Authority, according to base officials.
