ripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and the UCSD Medical Center have been named among the top 100 U.S. hospitals by Becker's Hospital Review.
Although the hospitals are listed alphabetically as opposed to being ranked, these La Jolla area medical centers received national recognition for their respective areas of expertise.
Scripps Memorial Hospital was awarded for nursing excellence and specialties in cardiology, orthopedics and gastroenterology.
The UCSD Medical Center stood out for its strengths in pulmonology, nephrology, geriatrics and urology.
These San Diego hospitals were in good company as other names on the list included the famed Sinai Medical Center of Los Angeles, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and Stanford Hospital & Clinics.
