Write Out Loud Presents Animals I Have Known
Theater troupe brings short stories to life in June 12 performance at Carlsbad City Library.
“Animals make a big difference in our lives whether we love them as family members or eat them for dinner,” explained Veronica Murphy, artistic director of Write Out Loud. “I think our relationship with animals is rooted in something very deep, even basic. Science calls it anthrozoology.”
Write Out Loud is San Diego’s unique theater troupe devoted to bringing short stories, poetry and other great writing to life by reading it aloud on-stage. The ancient relationship between animals and humans will be explored in their next program titled Animals I Have Known with a performance at Carlsbad City Library’s Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium, located at 1775 Dove Lane, on June 12 at 7 p.m. San Diego audiences can catch a performance at the Old Town Theatre on June 11, also at 7 p.m.
“Animals and humans have always had an indispensable relationship,” Murphy continued. “As dependent pets or as wild free agents, animals fascinate and entertain us. Sometimes they save us. Sometimes they kill us. It’s no over-statement, we can’t live with out them.”
