• Teen accused of stealing woman's purse, fleeing police (montereyherald.com) — A visitor to Monterey County reported an attempted purse snatching Saturday morning in the Carmel Rancho Shopping Center area, prompting a large response from deputies and Carmel Police. A 15-year-old suspect was chased through local businesses, later detained near Carmel Middle School with help from witnesses, and released to his father while prosecutors review attempted robbery and resisting charges.
