At the annual State of the PBID dinner, leaders also warned that looming county budget gaps could threaten specialized sheriff teams serving unincorporated Carmichael, even as new public art, park upgrades, and business investments move ahead. 
• Taste of Carmichael is the Place to be May 29 (carmichaeltimes.com) — Carmichael residents can sample food, wine, and beer while supporting local kids and families at the 21st Taste of Carmichael on May 29 at La Sierra Community Center. Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael, the evening fundraiser features dozens of restaurants, local wineries including Dusty Baker’s Baker Family Winery, live music from Wasted Space, and benefits community programs.
