1 Killed In Suspected Road Rage Shooting In San Lorenzo

Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man at Hesperian and Lewelling boulevards Sunday as a road rage incident.

SAN LORENZO, CA — Authorities are investigating a potential road rage incident that ended in the shooting death of a man in San Lorenzo Sunday evening, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Police were called to respond to a shooting at the intersection of Hesperian and Lewelling boulevards shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Deputies arrived to find a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the intersection was blocked off for hours as detectives investigated the scene Sunday. Drivers were advised to avoid the area Sunday night.

"The suspect vehicle fled the scene toward the 880 Freeway," Alameda County Sheriff's Office Lt. Ray Kelly said in a written statement. "The preliminary investigation has lead us to beleive this is a possible road rage type incident. "
