3 $448K Powerball Tickets Sold In Bay Area

The buzz over the $1 billion jackpot ticket in SoCal overshadowed the Bay Area winners. Here are the cities where they were sold.

BAY AREA — Wednesday night's Powerball drawing produced a new billionaire in California as a single ticket sold in Los Angeles matched the jackpot numbers. But another seven ticket buyers in California missed the jackpot by a single number, matching the first five numbers drawn. Each of those is worth a cool $448,750. Three of the seven tickets were purchased in the Bay Area — one each in San Francisco, the East Bay and the South Bay.

The winning numbers are —

The tickets were purchased at Steve's Liquors in Hayward, a 7-11 store in Santa Clara, and a Safeway in San Francisco.

The other four tickets were purchased in South Lake Tahoe, La Puente, Los Angeles and Northridge.

The Powerball jackpot now reverts to the minimum $20 million for Saturday's drawing.

Meanwhile, Friday's night's MegaMillions jackpot is $720 million, while Saturday's SuperLotto Plus is $78 million.
