Castro Valley Elementary School Receives 2020 California Distinguished Schools Award

State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond, has announced that 323 elementary schools are being honored under the 2020 California Distinguished Schools Award Program. It is with great excitement that we share the great news that Castro Valley Elementary School has been named a 2020 California Distinguished School. The Distinguished School Award recognizes schools based on performance and progress on the state indicators as specified on the California School Dashboard.

“Congratulations to Castro Valley Elementary School’s staff, students and families for being recognized for their academic achievement and a positive school climate. This is the result of a laser-like focus on each and every child. There are 5,887 public elementary schools in California and to be among only 323 schools selected this year is a tremendous honor and a well deserved recognition of Castro Valley Elementary School,” noted Superintendent Ahmadi.
