Annual Block Party Returns To The East Bay Saturday
The annual block party is put on by the Alameda County Public Defenders.
OAKLAND, CA — Sing, dance and eat free food at the annual block party in West Oakland on Saturday.
Put on by the Alameda County Public Defenders Office, the block party will take place Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at DeFremery Park.
"This event is about bringing people together with free food, music, family-friendly fun, and direct access to services that can make a real difference," Alameda County Public Defender Brendon Woods said. "We’re grateful to the community partners joining us to connect Oakland residents with resources, including criminal record repair, free health screenings, vaccine clinic services, job training information, benefits information, free books, and more."

DJay Taz will be at the event, bumping music. There will also be face painting, screen printing, a bouncy house and a bike raffle, officials said.
This is the eighth iteration of the annual block party. It is sponsored by community partners, including Brotherhood of Elders Network, BOSS (Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency), Baywell Health, BACS (Bay Area Community Services), FLY (Fresh Lifelines for Youth) and La Familia.
