HAYWARD, CA — If you're considering a career in early childhood education, you need look no further than Chabot College for training. Chabot's Early Childhood Development (ECD) Associate in Arts Degree recently received accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It is the field's most influential organization and awards accreditation to the early childhood associate, baccalaureate and master's degree programs demonstrating evidence of excellence by meeting the NAEYC Professional Preparation Standards.
"Chabot College has long excelled in developing curriculum and programs in Early Childhood Development that prepare early childhood professionals who will shape the future of our communities at every level from policy to the classroom," said Chabot President Dr. Susan Sperling. "We are honored by this extraordinary recognition by NAEYC of our program's significance."

They get hands-on experience in the college's laboratory school environment, a California State Preschool and Federal Head Start Program serving 66 children ages 12 months to age 5. Many of tots are children of Chabot students.
The accreditation has only been granted to 207 programs across the nation with Chabot being the fourth in California.
