CVSan Center Street Public Tour on May 20th

A new addition is coming to Castro Valley Boulevard and residents will have the opportunity to contribute to its design. An underutilized property previously owned by the California Department of Transportation is planned to be developed into the site of Castro Valley Sanitary District’s (CVSan’s) Engineering and Collection System Maintenance Departments within the next three to five years. Preliminary plans for a 13,000-square foot building and corporation yard will be unveiled during a public tour on Saturday, May 20th. This estimated $6 million project will include LEED-certified architecture and Bay-Friendly landscaping.

“This property will allow CVSan to condense its wastewater staff and equipment into one location and includes room to expand should Castro Valley’s needs grow in the future,” explained Roland Williams, CVSan General Manager.

The May 20th public tour will be open 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and will include a walk-through of the property and an architectural renderings presentation. This event is an opportunity for CVSan to receive input from the public on the site’s final design and function.
