CVSan Earth Day Donation to Alameda County Library Foundation

Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) hosted its 14th annual Earth Day Clean-Up event in April 2016. For the fifth year in a row, CVSan provided each volunteer an opportunity to select one of three local charities to receive $5.00 on their behalf. CVSan is proudly donating a total of $2,880.00 to three local charity groups based on each volunteer’s selection.

CVSan Board President, Ralph Johnson, spoke as a representative of the Alameda County Library Foundation at CVSan’s July Board meeting. The Foundation provides various programs for the community, including a book program for inmates’ children and the summer reading program. Books go to the Castro Valley branch first and then get circulated throughout the system.

A check in the amount of $905.00 was mailed to the Foundation and represented 181 volunteers who selected Alameda County Library Foundation as their charity of choice during the Earth Day Clean-Up event.
