CVSan Earth Day Donation to Castro Valley Educational Foundation

Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) hosted its 14th annual Earth Day Clean-Up event in April 2016. For the fifth consecutive year, CVSan provided each volunteer the opportunity to select one of three local charities to receive $5.00 on their behalf. CVSan is proudly donating a total of $2,880.00 to charity this year.

One of the charities selected for 2016 donations was the Castro Valley Educational Foundation (CVEF). CVEF has donated more than $350,000 to Castro Valley Unified School District programs since the Foundation’s inception over 30 years ago. CVEF President, Steve Ontiveros, was presented with the donation of $1,280.00 at the September 6th CVSan Board of Directors meeting.

Mr. Ontiveros stated his gratitude on behalf of the Foundation for the Earth Day volunteers who chose CVEF as their donation recipient. He shared with the Board CVEF’s role in the community stating, “The Foundation offers grants and scholarships to Castro Valley students with the express intention of fostering academic excellence, student success, and an innovative spirit among Castro Valley students.”
