CVSan: Earth Day Donation to CVACE STRIDES Program

Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) hosted its 19th Annual Earth Day Clean-Up event on April 22, 2023. For the ninth year, CVSan provided each volunteer the opportunity to select one of four local charities to receive $5.00 on their behalf. CVSan is proudly donating a combined total of $2,140.00 to charity this year.

One of the charities selected for 2023 donations was Castro Valley Adult and Career Education School (CVACE) STRIDES Program. CVACE Assistant Principal Keith Nauman was presented with a donation of $525.00 at CVSan’s July 11th Regular Board meeting.

General Manager Roland Williams said, “The CVACE STRIDES Program is a program for adults with intellectual disabilities. This comprehensive program includes classes in independent living skills, basic education in functional academics, community access, social and communication skills, work experience, and work readiness.”

Mr. Nauman thanked CVSan for considering CVACE STRIDES as one of the charity groups and stated that the donation will help their program continue to thrive. He added that CVACE STRIDES staff and Green Team take pride in the work they do to reduce waste and they appreciate CVSan for recognizing them.
