CVSan: Earth Day Donation to ForestR
For the tenth year, CVSan provided each volunteer the opportunity to select one of three local charities to receive $5.00 on their behalf.
Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) hosted its 19th Annual Earth Day Clean-Up event on April 22, 2023. For the tenth year, CVSan provided each volunteer the opportunity to select one of three local charities to receive $5.00 on their behalf. CVSan is proudly donating a combined total of $2,140.00 to charity this year.
One of the charities selected for 2023 donations was ForestR.org, a nonprofit organization with a mission to educate local communities about permaculture practices, plant local lands with the forests of the future and to employ local visionaries in green jobs for all ages. ForestR Founder Yon Hardisty was presented with a donation check of $1,330.00 at CVSan’s August 7th Regular Board meeting.
General Manager Roland Williams said he “was glad to recognize ForestR.org who has worked with CVSan on projects like the Earth Day Clean-Up event, ongoing gleaning to feed those in need, and litter pickup.”
