CVSan Earth Day Donation to Friends of San Lorenzo Creek
Friends of San Lorenzo Creek were presented with a donation of $485.00 at the October 3rd CVSan Board of Directors meeting.

Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) hosted its 15th annual Earth Day Clean-Up event on April 29, 2017. For the sixth consecutive year, CVSan provided each volunteer the opportunity to select one of four local charities to receive $5.00 on their behalf. CVSan is proudly donating a total of $1,495.00 to charity this year.
One of the charities selected for 2017 donations was Friends of San Lorenzo Creek (FSLC). FSLC members Bruce King, Roxann Lewis, and Chas Pisano, were presented with the donation of $485.00 at the October 3rd CVSan Board of Directors meeting. Mr. King shared the gratitude on behalf of FSLC for the Earth Day volunteers who chose FSLC as their donation recipient.
CVSan General Manager, Roland Williams stated that “FSLC promotes preservation, protection, and awareness of creeks in the fifty square miles of the San Lorenzo Creek watershed, including Castro Valley creeks. FSLC has coordinated Earth Day events, advocated for creek restoration projects such as the day-lighted creek at the Castro Valley Library, participated in the development of local public policies related to creeks, co-sponsored events such as the school creek-art contest with organizations such Eden Township Health Care District, and worked to develop conservation easements.”
