CVSan holds another successful Recycles Day!

On Saturday, July 24, 2021, Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) held another successful Recycles Day event at Canyon Middle School. During the six-hour event, 1,037 Alameda County residents and CVSan businesses dropped off textiles, e-waste, and other household hazardous waste (HHW) to be properly recycled or disposed.

Participants dropped off a total of 6,948 pounds of textiles and 51,297 pounds of e-waste and HHW! As with past Recycles Day events, one cubic foot bags of compost were given out to CVSan residents and businesses. Over 3,000 bags were distributed.

CVSan thanks its partners for this event, Alameda County Industries, and Alameda County HHW Facility, as well as all participants for helping to create a wonderful event. Let us all continue to work towards reducing waste in our communities.

The next Recycles Day event will be held on April 23, 2022. Appointments will be required. Appointment registration will open March 28, 2022. Visit cvsan.org/RecyclesDay closer to the event date for details on registration and acceptable items for drop-off.
