CVSan Holds Third Annual Recognition Event for 4R Business, 4R Planet Program Employees
CVSan recognized 4R Star employees during the third annual CVSan 4R Star Employee Recognition Event at CVSan offices on Friday, October 21.

Employees go out of their way to help Castro Valley businesses reduce waste, and employees of CVSan’s 4R Business, 4R Planet Recognition Program participants go even further. “4R Star Businesses” have recycling and composting rates well over 60 percent in large part due to the efforts of their employees. Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) recognized 4R Star employees during the third annual CVSan 4R Star Employee Recognition Event at CVSan offices on Friday, October 21, 2016. All of the over one hundred 4R Star businesses in Castro Valley were invited.
Awards were given out to the following employees:
· The Leadership Award: Charles Smith of Sutter Health Eden Medical Center (see left photo below).

· The Team Award: DMG North (see middle photo below).
· The Educator Award: Jerry Vasquez of Redwood Convalescent Hospital

· The Recycling Champion Award: Janelle Walter of Groveway Veterinary Hospital.
Approximately 25 people were in attendance, including staff from Baywood Court, Castro Valley Eden Area Chamber of Commerce, First Presbyterian Church, Greek Orthodox Church, Groveway Veterinary Hospital, His Growing Grove, Kenneth Aitken Senior and Community Center, Knudsen’s Ice Creamery, Redwood Convalescent Hospital, and Sutter/Eden Medical Center. CVSan Board members Ralph Johnson and Melody Appleton and staff Roland Williams, Naomi Lue, and Jordan Figueiredo were in attendance. For more information, please visit www.cvsan.org/4RStars.
