CVSan Public Records Requests Now Online

CASTRO VALLEY, CA – Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) has launched a new webpage for processing public records requests online. This new system will allow CVSan to track public records requests more efficiently and will allow residents to make public records requests more easily.

Individuals wishing to submit a public records request with CVSan may do so by using the online form at www.cvsan.org/PublicRecords, emailing your request to publicinfo@cvsan.org, or requesting in person at CVSan’s main office, located at 21040 Marshall Street, Castro Valley. Operating hours are Monday –Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

CVSan will respond to the request in writing within 10 calendar days of the receipt of the request, advising if CVSan has the records sought and whether they are wholly or partly available for disclosure, or if more time is needed to respond. The time for notice may be extended up to an additional 14 calendar days in some circumstances.

The following fees still apply to public records requests:

• Paper (Single-sided): $0.25 per page
• Paper (Double-sided): $0.50 per page
• Electronic (for audio or video files): Cost determined by the actual material cost to process the request (e.g. cost of CDs, DVDs, or USB drives)
