CVSan Receives Financial Reporting Award

Castro Valley Sanitary District awarded the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting for the fourth consecutive year.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA – Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) in recognition of its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018. This is the fourth year CVSan has applied for and received this award.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The CAFR is the document that presents the audited financial position of CVSan as of June 30, 2018 and the results of operations for the fiscal year 2018/19. It has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
