CVSan Recognized for Transparency Efforts

CVSan was honored to receive the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence at its April 3rd Regular Board of Directors Meeting.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA – Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) was honored to receive the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence at its April 3rd Regular Board of Directors Meeting. This certificate, presented by the Special District Leadership Foundation, recognizes outstanding efforts to promote transparency and good governance. This is the third consecutive time CVSan has received this bi-annual award.

Transparency means that a government agency is open, accessible, and engages with the community. Government transparency allows for accountability and easy access to information so that residents can better understand their district.

To qualify for this award, Special Districts must demonstrate their transparency efforts by providing extensive information on their website, performing community outreach on district activities, providing ethics training for all Board members, and coordinating the timely filing of financial records.
