CVSan's Second Repair Workshop was a Success!
Over 80 percent of the items were repaired and a total of 185 pounds of potential waste was diverted from landfill.
On Saturday, June 18th, 2016, CVSan presented Castro Valley’s second Fixit Clinic at the Castro Valley Library. Residents brought a variety of broken, non-functioning items to the event, such as a vintage toaster, a boom box, a few sewing machines, and lots of bicycles and laptops!
Eleven Fixit Clinic volunteer coaches were on hand to help attendees assess the problem with their item and provide their expertise to fix it. A special thank you to four local Castro Valley volunteer coaches, Sarah Foster-Peck, Robert Fong, Mike Barbaro, and Ron Eversole, for donating their time to the event! Over 80 percent of the items were repaired and a total of 185 pounds of potential waste was diverted from landfill.
