CVSan's Used Motor Oil Filter Exchange Program
Program will run from Sept. 12 to Oct. 21.
Do you change your own oil and live in a single-family home? Do you want to find out how to get a free motor oil filter? CVSan’s award-winning Used Motor Oil Filter Exchange Program begins again on September 12th and will end on October 21st. Participants will receive a coupon* in the mail for a new filter and can receive a maximum of one coupon per household per week during the program duration.
There are four easy steps for single-family residents to participate in the filter exchange program and recycle used motor oil filters curbside:
1. Drain the oil from your used motor oil filter into a pan for 24 hours. This is an important step, as filters can hold up to a quart of oil.

3. Call WMAC’s Customer Service Center at (510) 537-5500, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. at least 24 hours before setting out your used motor oil and filter(s) curbside.

4. Set the sealed bag and used motor oil next to your curbside recycling. WMAC will collect them on your regular collection day.
Single-family residents can set out up to three jugs and three filters curbside on their collection day at any time during the year. Go to www.cvsan.org/usedoil for more information on how to recycle used motor oil and filters!
* The coupon may be redeemed for one (1) filter up to $10 (including tax). A used motor oil filter must be set out for recycling curbside between 8/12/2016 and 10/21/2016 in order to receive a coupon for a new filter. Coupon is for a limited time only and expires November 7, 2016. CVSan reserves the right to alter or cancel the program at any time for any reason.
