Eden Medical Center Celebrates the Grand Reopening of Its Gift Shop
Gift shop reopens May 5th, and friendly volunteers will be back on-site May 9th throughout the hospital
If you were a patient or visitor at Eden Medical Center before the COVID-19 pandemic began, it’s likely you were greeted by a friendly volunteer. Or maybe you stopped by the gift shop to pick up a tasty treat or flowers and chat with the volunteers who run the gift shop.
Good news! Eden Medical Center’s volunteers are coming back to help patients, visitors and staff. On Thursday, May 5th, the gift shop will celebrate its grand reopening! Purchases made at the gift shop go toward supporting hospital programs and services, so stop on by if you’re in the neighborhood.

- Lovable stuffed animals
- Knick-knacks
- Precious newborn items (including T-shirts that say, “Born at Eden”!)
- Healing and happiness floral arrangements
- Snacks for every craving
- Balloons & gift wrapping
In addition to running the gift shop, the volunteers at Eden have helped in countless ways, including putting together the welcome kits for patients checking into the hospital, escorting patients and visitors to Registration from the Lobby, filling the hospital’s hygiene stations, and generally making life easier for patients, visitors and staff members. And the volunteers will be back doing exactly that starting May 9th.
“All the volunteers are so happy to be back,” says Auxiliary President Denise Carlson. “It’s a great feeling to be missed so much.”

Volunteer applications are always available in the gift shop, and you can ask a volunteer what it’s like helping out around the hospital. Many of volunteers were patients in the hospital at one time—or had family members cared for at Eden Medical Center—and they wanted to give back to their local hospital and community.
Eden Gift Shop Hours:
Monday through Friday: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12 noon to 4 p.m.
