Eden Medical Center Thanks Community for Outpouring of Support

In the wake of COVID-19 preparation, with tireless efforts by caregivers and staff across Eden Medical Center, there’s been a heartwarming outpouring of support by businesses and community members.

“We have had an amazing last 24 hours being showered by donations and gifts from our community,” said Eden’s Chief Nursing Executive Sarah Kiyoi, R.N., MSN. “Departments have received pizza, and Trader Joe’s gave snacks and flowers for our frontline staff. Our community is recognizing the value that every one of you brings and how you demonstrate our values.”

Grocery bags—10 in all—of various food items, snacks and flowers were taken to hospital departments and shared among staff. In addition, the hospital has been receiving many donations of supplies from the community.

“We want to acknowledge and thank people in our community for their donations,” Kiyoi added. “Donations of masks, other personal protective equipment and more are appreciated now more than ever.”

Like all healthcare teams during this unprecedented crisis, Sutter Health anticipated a potential shortage of medical supplies and has been aggressively securing additional supplies from conventional and unconventional sources.
