CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress Program is teaming up with Alameda County Sup. Nate Miley for a free mattress collection event on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 in Hayward.

Foam, steel, wood, cotton and other fibers can be recycled and turned into everyday products such as appliances, carpet padding, biomass fuel and more. Since it began in 2016, Bye Bye Mattress has recycled more than 2.5 million mattresses resulting in 70 million pounds of materials being diverted from state landfills.

This mattress collection event is part of Sup. Miley’s Communities United to Remove Blight (CURB) initiative.
