Hayward Woman Killed In Crash Identified

The woman was killed in a Union City crash on Aug. 14.

UNION CITY, CA — Police have identified a person killed in a traffic collision between a van and a motorcycle on August 14, the Union City Police Department said Tuesday.

Karen Lynn Prado, 43, of Hayward, was pronounced dead at the scene when the motorcycle she was a passenger on collided with a van around the 1600 block of Whipple Road.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital for treatment and survived.

The van's driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police say.

Police are still investigating the crash and ask anyone with information to contact Officer Michael Silva of the City Police Traffic Unit at (510) 675-5222.
