Hayward Woman Killed in Weekend Crash
The crash caused the partial closure of I-880 for several hours.
HAYWARD, CA — A woman who died after a crash on Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward early Sunday morning has been identified as 39-year-old Hilda Alejo-Rodriguez of Hayward, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
The crash was reported around 3:50 a.m. in the highway's southbound lanes north of Winton Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The vehicle the victim was in spun out and was blocking two of the highway's lanes when officers arrived. CHP officers issued a Sig-alert for the area, closing part of the highway for several hours as they investigated the incident.
