Man Dies In Collision Near Hayward Executive Airport
Sunday's crash is the first fatal collision of the year in Hayward, officials said.
HAYWARD, CA — Police in Hayward are investigating the city's first fatal collision this year after a two-car crash killed a 50-year-old man on Sunday night near the Hayward Executive Airport.
The crash was reported about 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Winton Avenue and Clawiter Road.
The man who died was found unconscious inside one of the vehicles and he died from his injuries at the scene, Hayward police said. His name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

A 22-year-old man in the other car stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Police said alcohol impairment factored in the crash, but didn't release any other details.
