Man Tries To Stab Congressional Candidate: Sheriff's Office
It happened Sunday at a festival in Castro Valley.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — A man was arrested in Castro Valley Sunday for trying to stab Republican congressional candidate Rudy Peters, according to Sgt. Ray Kelly, a spokesperson for the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
Peters, who is challenging Democratic incumbent Rep. Eric Swalwell, was at a booth at the Castro Valley Fall Festival when he was approached by 35-year-old Farzad Fazeli.
"During the incident," Kelly said in a written release, "Fazeli is suspected to have pulled out a switchblade knife and attempted to stab the victim. The knife malfunctioned and the victim became involved in a physical struggle with Fazeli."

On Sunday, my opponent @PetersCongress was attacked at his campaign booth in Castro Valley. I’m glad to hear Mr. Peters is okay. But it’s NEVER okay to use violence to settle political disagreements (or any disagreement). Fortunately, @ACSOSheriffs arrested the suspect.
