Mother Hit By SUV While Pushing Stroller Dies at Castro Valley Hospital
The victim was just 21 years old. Her baby was also injured.

A 21-year-old mother listed in critical condition since being hit by an SUV while pushing her infant son in a stroller in Hayward last Wednesday has died at a hospital in Castro Valley.
Denesha Marshay Turner was pronounced dead at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.
An examination of Turner’s body has been scheduled for Thursday. After that, coroner’s officials said they may have additional information about the cause and manner of her death.

Turner and her 11-month-old son were left in critical condition at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley after being struck by an SUV while crossing a northbound on-ramp to Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward around 7 p.m. on March 18.
The driver remained on scene. Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver’s identity has not been disclosed, but she was a 22-year-old Hayward resident, according to the CHP.
