Oakland Man Dies Following Castro Valley Shooting

Several dozen shell casings were located at the scene by detectives and crime lab personnel.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — A man died in a shooting Monday night in Castro Valley, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies went at 10:15 p.m. to Knox and North Sixth streets after multiple people reported gunshots.

Deputies located a man with multiple gunshot wounds, sheriff's spokesperson Lt. Ray Kelly said. Paramedics also responded and tried to save the man's life, but he died, Kelly said.

The name of the victim was unavailable Wednesday afternoon from the county coroner's bureau.
