Police Investigate Early Morning Fatal Shooting in Hayward

Police are investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning in Hayward. Around 1 a.m., police said a man and a woman were walking near the intersection of Arf Avenue and Morningside Drive when several men confronted the pair. After a brief exchange, one of the men shot the male victim.

The suspects then fled in a silver SUV, police said. The victim died from his injuries at the scene, according to police. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim, police said.
