Processing Facilities Tour
CVSan, Alameda County Industries, and Waste Management of Alameda County hosted a residenttour of their processing facilities.
On Thursday, July 18th, Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan), in coordination with Alameda County Industries (ACI) and Waste Management of Alameda County, Inc. (WMAC), hosted a Processing Facilities Tour.
The tour began at CVSan offices, where 18 attendees received an overview of the new agreement with ACI that began on May 1st. The tour then moved to the Davis Street Transfer Station, where attendees got a firsthand look at the garbage transfer facility. The tour continued at the ACI Materials Recovery Facility, where attendees observed the processing of recyclables. This unique experience provided members of the CVSan community an up-close look at where CVSan’s organics, recycling, and garbage is processed.
