Recycles Day and Compost Give-Away

Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) held another successful Recycles Day event on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Canyon Middle School. During the 6-hour event, over 1,429 Alameda County residents dropped off household hazardous waste, e-waste, and pharmaceuticals to be properly recycled or disposed.

As with past Recycles Day events, 1-cubic foot bags of compost were given out to CVSan residents. Due to special circumstances, residents received four bags of compost per household at this event, for a total of 5,760 bags distributed to CVSan residents!

Castro Valley Sanitary District thanks its partners for this event, Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste Facility and Waste Management, as well as Alameda County residents for helping to create a wonderful event. Let us all continue to work towards reducing waste in our communities!
