Find out what happens to Castro Valley's waste by attending a free tour of the Davis Street Transfer Station on Friday, March 10th.

What happens to Castro Valley’s organics, recycling, and garbage once it leaves the curb? If you are a Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) resident or business owner find out for yourself by attending a free tour of the Davis Street Transfer Station in San Leandro on Friday, March 10th.
The Davis Street Transfer Station processes and sorts 7 million pounds of materials each day using four state-of-the-art processing facilities, including a single stream materials recovery facility that houses an optical sorter which uses infrared light to separate recyclable materials with precision and speed.
To register, visit www.cvsan.org/dststour. This will be the only tour offered in 2017 and registration is limited. Transportation is provided to the facility free of charge.
