Sheriff's Deputies Save Life In San Lorenzo

Alameda County Sheriff's deputies gave Narcan to a person who had overdosed.

SAN LORENZO, CA — Sheriff's deputies in San Lorenzo saved a person's life Thursday night, according to a tweet sent by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Around 9:30 p.m., deputies were the first to arrive after a person overdosed on heroin, and administered the life-saving drug Narcan.

According to the tweet, "We have 1000 doses of Narcan deployed throughout our agency. We have saved many lives since the program started in 2018."

Narcan, also known as naloxone, is an opioid overdose-reversal drug.
