CVSan will host a free tour of the Davis Street Transfer Station in San Leandro on Friday, March 9th.

What happens to Castro Valley’s organics and garbage once it leaves the curb? If you are a Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) resident or business owner, find out for yourself by attending a free tour of the Davis Street Transfer Station in San Leandro on Friday, March 9th.

The Davis Street Transfer Station processes and sorts 4,000 tons of materials each day using four state-of-the-art processing facilities, including a single stream materials recovery facility that houses an optical sorter which uses infrared light to separate recyclable materials with precision and speed.

There are currently spots available! For more information and to register, visit www.cvsan.org/dststour. Transportation is provided to the facility free of charge.
