Suspect Arrested At Castro Valley BART Station

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — BART Police arrested a man for public intoxication at the Castro Valley BART station on Monday just after 10 p.m.

Officers had been called to the station because of complaints about a man causing a disturbance.

59-year-old Stuart Sommers of Castro Valley was arrested.

Arrests at the Castro Valley BART station are an unusual occurrence. Only one arrest was made in October - 31-year-old Tamrat Hermon of Hayward was arrested for battery and theft after allegedly hitting a BART rider and the taking the victim’s cell phone

There were two arrests each in August and September. The most serious of those crimes was the theft of a catalytic converter on Aug. 8.
