Who Killed Geraldine Thomas? A Half Century Later, Deputies Are Still Searching For Answers
The 22-year-old was found dead in Castro Valley on Feb. 9, 1975, according to authorities.
CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Authorities are again asking for help solving the case of a 22-year-old woman who was found dead in the East Bay more than fifty years ago.
Geraldine Thomas was at a cookware party with family and friends on Dec. 20, 29174, when an older Black man picked her up, according to authorities.
That would be the last time the 22-year-old was ever seen alive, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas' body was found more than a month later near mile marker 1.67 on Eden Canyon Road in Castro Valley on Feb. 9, 1975. Police did not say how Thomas died or how long she had been dead when found along Canyon Road.

Police did not say whether the man who picked Thomas up was considered a suspect in the case. At the time of Thomas' disappearance, the man was about 45 years old, 5 feet, 3 inches, and 145 pounds with short cut salt and pepper hair, according to authorities.
